Project Support Officer

We are looking for Project Support Officers to join our National Environmental Assessment and Sustainability team (NEAS) to support the team to deliver sustainable outcomes.
- You will become part of a great working environment and support the team by arranging meetings, telecons, webinars and workshops as well as drafting agendas, taking, and writing up meeting notes and providing administration and support of our SharePoint site. In addition, depending on technical background and interests, you may be asked to assist with more specific sustainability tasks (relevant technical training and supervision will be given as needed). These might include:
- Carry out FCRM Capital Project related tasks as directed by the NEAS lead
- Take a more active role in supporting the Sustainability and Innovation Sub-Group
- Support environmental screening for projects and programmes.
- Help collate and manage data on performance against sustainability requirements e.g. carbon, CEEQUAL, Biodiversity Net Gain.
The team
- NEAS is divided into 6 operational Hubs, with each being led by an Operational Unit Manager overseeing 10-15 staff, supported by Principal Environmental Specialists and Team Leaders. Each Team Leader manages several Environmental Project Managers (EPMs) and Senior Environmental Project Managers (SEPMs) who work collaboratively with our environmental supply partners to provide technical expertise and support the day-to-day delivery of projects within our flood & coastal erosion risk management programme.
Experience/skills required
- You will have an interest and be knowledgeable in the environment and the positive influence you can make with collaboration and involvement
- Good communicator and be comfortable working in a virtual team environment is essential
- Proficient in outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Sharepoint
- Numeracy and report writing skills and confident in balancing multiple pieces of work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Membership of a professional environmental institute would be preferred however not essential and if successful the agency can be involved with obtaining and funding membership
- It would be advantageous to have knowledge of flood and coastal risk management however in house training is available
- You will be offered comprehensive induction/training and will be given the time and space to learn while doing the role. You will also be assigned a coach within the team to support you as you embark on the role.

- As a national role the office location is flexible. The role will require regular travel to project sites and project team meetings in other Agency and Supply Partner offices. Overnight stays will be necessary from time to time.
