Based on the Europarc in Grimsby, Auto-Trail is around 30 minutes from Hull, Scunthorpe, Louth and Market Rasen.

**The role**

An opening has emerged within our team for a Purchase Ledger Controller, you will oversee the various aspects of the purchase ledger from processing invoices, resolving queries, statement reconciliation, supplier maintenance and payment routines.

This role is perfect for someone who is self-motivated with a can-do attitude. Forming part of an experienced finance team, communication and approachability are key. You will need to be enthusiastic and flexible in order to juggle a variety of tasks ensuring an efficient approach.

While basic bookkeeping and purchase ledger experience is preferable the nature of the finance team means all training and development required will be provided. Professional qualifications such as AAT will be supported as part of the package.

**Main duties**

Your responsibilities may include:

- Responsibility for processing a high volume of invoices efficiently and accurately
- Overseeing and resolving any queries with suppliers
- Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
- Reconcile each supplier’s statement of account monthly /quarterley
- Analyse and understand balances on supplier accounts, pro-actively resolving any debit balances on the purchase ledger
- Maintaining control over the quality of the purchase ledger and allocating payments timely in the correct period.
- Assisting in the month end process as required, including prepayments/accruals, journal posting
- Working closely with other departments to resolve any queries
- Keeping to the payment routines
- Administering discount management
- Assist with adhoc tasks within the department

**About you**

You should be able to demonstrate:

- Working knowledge of ERP accounting software
- Excellent computerised system skills in Excel, Word and Outlook
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with a positive outlook
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
