**Job summary**:
**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
The post holder will recognise the importance of the MDT in delivering a high quality, patient-centred service. They will be accountable for ensuring that patient care is of a high standard at all times and that care and treatment of patients meet the department's requirements. PAs are supervised by a designated Consultant with individual mentorship to oversee career development.

They will work closely with their teams at all times while developing a high degree of personal autonomy when assessing and planning care for patients. The post holder will acquire and maintain extensive specialist knowledge and experience in the department, acting as a resource and support for the clinical team and allied health professionals. The PA will represent the department at local and external meetings as appropriate.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:
BA/Bsc Degree prior to undertaking

Physician Associate Program
- Graduate of an accredited Physician

Associate training program
- Completion of Faculty of Physician

Associates (FPA) Physician Associate

national certification examination (PANE)

within the last 6 years (or pending if new

graduate)
- Registered on the FPA Physician Associate

Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR) (or

pending if new graduate)
- Evidence of continued learning &
development

**Experience**:
**Essential**:
Experience working within primary or

secondary care
- Has an in-depth knowledge of all relevant

and related aspects of anatomy and

physiology
- Has an in-depth knowledge of related

medical conditions, treatments and

pharmacology.
- Ability to support medical staff in their

decision making.
