**About The Role**

As the Employer Engagement Lead you will lead our work with Hounslow employers; securing more and fair opportunities, as well as driving stronger business engagement to support a thriving local economy.

You will be responsible for implementing core workstreams to realise transformation and deliver our ambitious targets. This will involve you driving a strategic and intelligence led approach to ensure opportunities for residents deliver meaningful and sustainable employment outcomes, with a particular focus on our priorities of fair pay and youth employment.

The post will have a high level of visibility with internal and external stakeholders, and the post holder will be required to build strong stakeholder relationships to influence at all levels and develop highly credible brand and reputation both locally and beyond.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Responsible for the delivery of an attractive package of support for local businesses including provision of Information, Advice and Guidance around issues like the Living Wage and Apprenticeship Levy. Supporting employers with local recruitment including creating new job and apprenticeship opportunities (including access to and management of the Councils unspent apprenticeship levy to do so) and successful delivery of targeted events, fairs, networks and forums.

2. Delivery of employer engagement workstream projects to realise change and transformation through a collaborative and engaging approach. Being accountable for end-to-end delivery, working alongside team members, internal and external partners and communities.

3. Work with management team (and wider council teams) to establish and embed intelligence approach to understand needs of Hounslow residents as well as labour market trends, insights and opportunities to inform service strategy.

4. Work with key Council services to leverage opportunities for Hounslow residents, acting as main point of contact for both procurement and planning. Ensure section 106 employment and skills plans are developed and monitored in line with corporate priorities, manage s106 contributions and budgets and ensure that social value is delivered through Council contracts to the benefit of Hounslow residents and the availability of skills and employment opportunities in the borough.

**Your Skills**:
1. You are highly proficient in creating and sustaining excellent working relationships and a track record of working with and influencing a range of stakeholders.

2. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to write clear and engaging content and reports; your ability to absorb a wide range of information and communicate and present this succinctly and effectively to audience needs one of your strengths.

3. You work independently, proactively and flexibly, being a creative and innovative thinker you are able to provide original and imaginative responses to resolve issues and problems faced within the role.

**Professional Qualifications**:

- A degree-level qualification or demonstrable work-based experience that evidences an equivalent level of attainment and competence in the areas of business engagement, stakeholder management, project management, and/or change management.
