**Job Purpose**

To actively lead on all aspects of the maintenance of the site and premises of the Showground 365 days a year ensuring effective and efficient management of the Grounds and Facilities staff, temporary labour and external contractors.

Support the Head of Operations and deputise in their absence.

**Main Accountabilities**
- Lead and work with the Grounds and Facilities Team, allocating and supervising tasks and responsibilities. Assist with the recruitment, performance management, training, and development of that team.
- Be an active hands-on team player, willing to engage with any training necessary
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of both capital, health and safety, as well as repairs and maintenance budgets.
- Assist the Head of Operations in the implementation of a maintenance and improvement strategy with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance.
- Assist with the supervision of contractors and service providers.
- Take the lead on ensuring all compliance and statutory testing of the buildings and facilities is completed and updated on the database _(Every System)_
- Assist with reviewing of the current systems in place and appraising their efficiency and make recommendations for improvement
- Work constructively with the Events/Sales team and event organisers/clients to ensure the Showground is prepared and ready to meet the high standards expected by its customers and charity supporters.
- Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety and other applicable legislation.
- Take the lead for the effective management and upkeep of the Showground and Facilities.
- Actively engage with Senior Management team and the organisation of the Lincolnshire Show, Countryside Lincs and other events that support the Society’s charitable and financial objectives.

**Health and Safety**
- Comply with all rules and requirements detailed in the current edition of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society Employee Health and Safety Policy.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements including managing and minimising risk to the business, employees and customers.
- Support the Head of Operations in the preparation and validate risk assessments for onsite activity.
- Support the Head of Operations in managing safely the requirements of COSHH
- Encourage a culture of safe working and a regard for health and safety

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Minimum 3 Years’ experience in a similar Role
- Experience of a compliance and/ or facilities/ property role within a large organisation with multiple stakeholders, ideally within the events industry.
- Basic plumbing and electrical skills/ knowledge
- Practical qualifications in construction and/or grounds maintenance
- Excellent working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements with relevant qualifications
- Strong team player with good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Client facing with excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- Experience of maintenance programme development and implementation.
- It is imperative in this role that you are a hands-on team player, with an ability to liaise and work with other departments, the Charity’s volunteers, trustees, and its commercial customers.
- Good IT, numeric and analytical skills.
