**Job summary**:
The Corporate Affairs Directorate’s (CAD) mission is to develop a trusted, accountable, compliant and effective organisation. This is still a relatively new team within Forestry England, the organisation charged with stewardship of the nation’s forests.

The Corporate Affairs Directorate provides the corporate functions for Forestry England that includes the CEO office, strategy, policy, governance, risk, compliance, performance, insight, and knowledge information. This multi-disciplinary team leads on a portfolio of programmes and projects that ensure Forestry England operates as and remains an outstanding organisation. This is a critical role that will provide high quality administrative support across the senior leadership of the organisation. This role is working in a very visible, fast paced team directly in contact with the Chief Executive, Senior Team, Board members and wider organisation.

**Job description**:
To provide exceptional quality administrative support to the Forestry England CEO office; Chief Executive (CE), Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Director of Corporate Affairs, Executive Team, and the wider Forestry England senior team to help ensure that they function efficiently and effectively. Manage and support senior governance meetings and visits. Administer key corporate processes, documents and reports.

The role is a trusted point of contact for the Chief Executive (CE), Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Executive Team (ET), Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Corporate Affairs Directorate.

The role works within the CEO office, will report into the Corporate Governance Manager and will be closely working with the PA to the Chief Executive (CE) and Chief Operating Officer (COO), Head of Corporate Governance, Strategic programmes and CEO office, and Director of Corporate Affairs. It required daily contact with the CE, COO and Chief Finance Officer. It is largely self-directed and requires a good level of autonomy, decision-making, prioritisation within an agreed framework.

**Person specification**:

- Provide high quality, timely administrative support for Forestry England Board members, Executive Team, Senior Leadership Team and Corporate Affairs Directorate. This will include organising the detail across a large number of meetings, events, visits, travel and accommodation, and processing invoices. Including daily contact with senior management and all levels of staff in the Forestry Commission family. Daily communication with external suppliers and stakeholders representing Forestry England. Providing a professional, customer focused first point of contact with the CEO office and Corporate Affairs Directorate.
- Supporting the PA to the CE and COO in providing daily support to the Chief Executive, Chief Operating Office and Chief Financial Officer that include organising meetings with Defra, external parties and stakeholders.
- Working with the Forestry England Chief Executive and Head of Corporate Governance, discuss, prepare and agree the forward look, agendas and site visits for Forestry England Board, Executive Team and Senior Leadership Team meetings.
- Responsible for maintaining and actioning the Forestry England governance calendar including sending calling notices, requests for agenda items and papers, following up actions, preparing board packs.
- Responsible for logistics of all Board / Executive team / SLT visits / workshops liaising where appropriate with internal and external hosts, including itinerary, accommodation, meals, travels, guests. Including arranging payment and checking invoices.
- Secretariat for the Forestry England Senior Leadership Team (SLT) for all their meetings and events. Provide secretariat cover for the Forestry England Board, Forestry England Executive Team, Tier 2 Staff Council as required.
- Secretariat for the Forestry England Risk Management group, and administration, collation and development of the corporate risk register and reporting.
- Lead co-ordinator for the Accounting Officer’s accountability, assurance and governance update to the Board producing a credible first draft for Head of Corporate Governance and Chief Executive review and sign off.
