Collection Box Coordinator - Volunteer post

The Kent Association for the Blind is currently looking for a Collection Box Coordinator required for the broad Ashford area. Role involves collecting donation boxes from various locations throughout the area. All travel expenses will be covered.

Desirable skills but not essential - good numeracy skills, organised, trustworthy and ability to travel independently across Ashford. As so many of the locations are rural, access to a private vehicle would be necessary.

The main purpose of this position is to obtain the maximum revenue for the KAB, through boxes placed in shops, clubs and public houses etc. It may occasionally involve working unsocial hours.

A vital part of our work involves the placing of boxes at new sites as we need to continually expand our potential.

This position is based from home, with travel throughout the allocated area, and reports directly to the Fundraising Manager. All expenses for this post will be covered.

The Fundraising team based in the KAB Head Office will inform Collectors of any urgent calls which they should aim to empty as soon as possible, within 14 days.

As a Collection Box Coordinator, you are representing the charity and a basic knowledge of the work of KAB will be required to be able to present the cause well.

**Essential Criteria**

Be able to demonstrate:

- A confident manner and proven ability with experience of dealing with the public face to face.
- Self motivation.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead.
- Ability to travel independently across the area of service.

**Desirable Criteria**

Be able to demonstrate:

- Possession of a professional manner and flexible approach to working.
- Flexibility with working practices while maintaining good time management skills.
- Experience of working in sales would be an advantage.
