Waking Night Support Worker

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Support Worker to join our team as a Waking Night Support Worker in a Residential setting for young people and adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism (ASD) challenging behaviour and other Mental Health issues.
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will provide therapeutic support, intervention, and guidance for young people exhibiting behaviours by:
- Ensuring the safety of the young people throughout the night.
- Making a positive contribution to the lives of others
- Undertaking cleaning duties, maintaining good hygiene and cleanliness of the unit.
- Prompting and/or supporting personal care
- Documenting service user’s activities, reporting issues and recording incidents
- To maintain the safety and security of the unit, adhering to Health and Safety Regulation and Procedures
- Managing challenging behaviour and difficult situations
- Administering medicines when required
- Providing person-centred care by following individual care plan and risk assessments
- Able to work long hours shift from 21:00-09:00, which you would remain to be awake.
- Able to work on your own
We value relevant experience of supporting people with a learning disability or autism as well as a ‘can-do approach’, person-centred values, energy and commitment.
You will have to work a minimum of three nights per week which would include a weekend cover.
You should be willing to learn as every day can be different. We will help you complete the care certificate modules, other mandatory training in care, Therapeutic training and an NVQ qualification.
