**Job description**:
Supporting both the Defence Digital Organisation and the wider Digital Function, you’ll be central to shaping and influencing our employee value proposition. Central to this you will be leading in shaping the right environment where our digital organisation can flourish. You will oversee a team who will provide best practice support and advice to our leaders to enable them to look after our people and provide enriched careers. You will be responsible for:

- Driving levels of D&I ambition and our broader workforce transformation through developing our culture and working practices
- Maximising our employment offer that is modern and agile bringing to life hybrid working and aligning ways of working to our location strategy.
- Investing in our talent to grow the organisation of the future, ensuring our leadership community is equipped to drive its’ talent programme
- Driving our employee value proposition to become an employer of choice, tailoring to needs to the individual throughout their career
- Working with HR policy colleagues to drive and develop fair and consistent reward practices and communication of holistic benefits
- Developing the business case for current and future digital workforce needs incorporating the full employee offer

You will also be a key SME contributor to, and advisor and contributor to our Strategic Workforce Transformation and wider Digital Transformation programmes which are focussed on upskilling and reskilling the Digital workforce.

This is a whole force role (responsible for civil servant, military and contractor workforce).

We are keen to exploit great practice and innovation in people practices within the Defence Digital organisation - acting as a beacon for the wider Digital Function across the Defence system

**Key Accountabilities**
- Accountable for delivery of portfolio which includes:

- Diversity and inclusion
- Employee engagement and culture
- Workforce advisor
- Management of key relationships e.g. DBS, Trade Unions
- Talent development
- Leadership development
- Application and influencing development of policy (noting that policy development and ownership sits in central MOD HR)

You will report into the Deputy Head of HR and will have a key partnership with the HR Business Partners who will help you to stay connected to our business areas.

To be successful in this role you will be
- A strong, adaptable HR leader who is both tenacious and resilient with integrity. You will have an absolute passion for developing interventions that get the best from our people.
- A great communicator, with strong interpersonal skills and able to build relationships across the business.
- Creative, flexible, and able to respond to business challenges in complex and fast-moving working environment.
- Experienced in developing people focused interventions across a range of HR practices, from recruitment and talent acquisition through to early careers, enabling learning and developing capability - across a complex whole-force workforce.
- Have an aptitude to think strategically and to connect complex pieces of work.
- Proven analytical skills to generate people and culture insights.

Ideally you will hold CIPD Level 5/MCIPD, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
