An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Lung function department at Nottingham University Hospitals. We are looking to employ people to work on either or both our main sites at City & QMC.

As an Admin assistant you will work as part of a team to support the administration processes in Lung Function. You will promote the smooth and efficient performance of the services and make a direct, positive contribution to the work of the team.

Main duties of the job

You must be able to undertake general office duties and be confident in receiving telephone calls and dealing with staff and patients face to face.

Previous experience of working in a hospital setting would be an advantage.

You will be responsible for high quality administration support to the Lung Function team.

You will need to demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills, as well as being a hard working team player who works well under pressure and has an approachable manner.

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE equivalent with grade C or above in Maths & English
- NVQ Level 2/3 in administration/Customer Service or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
- Previous administration experience
- Use of IT systems
- Evidence of team working
- Clerical experience including photocopying, filing dealing with confidential information with sensitivity and discretion

Desirable criteria
- Use of NHS computer systems e.g. Medway PAS, Winscribe and WEBHISS/Medical Office

Communication and Relationship Skills

Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate effectively with different audiences
- Ability to communicate complex information in a clear manner
- Recognises own role as part of an effective team
- Able to present a friendly, helpful and professional image when liaising with a range of individuals including patients and senior managers internal and external to the trust

- Frequent use of VDU equipment

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
