Volunteer Department Coordinator, Books & Media

Volunteer to help Sue Ryder be there when it matters

As a Charity Shop Volunteer Department Coordinator in our Dagenham Sue Ryder charity shop, you will be one of the store’s friendly faces who will help us to provide the best customer experience whilst playing an important role in raising funds for our charity work.

You will support the shop team to maintain their book department to a high standard, up to date & displayed well so that we attract customers.

The Role - Charity Shop Volunteer, Department Coordinator
- Placing Books in alphabetical order and or categorising
- Ensuring we achieve the best-selling price by researching and recognising items of value or interest to collectors. Scanning books to check value on Ziffit.
- Uploading & sending books to Shopiago
- Donations and Gift Aid - meet donors, receive donations, sign donors up to Gift Aid
- Sorting, labelling, pricing of stock
- Greeting and helping customers
- Serving customers on the till (training provided)
- Maintaining shop displays, re-stocking,
- Light cleaning/tidying duties to keep the shop inviting and well presented
