**About the Role**

The Site Auditor will be responsible for conducting audits of retail stores to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Conduct on-site audits of retail stores and petrol forecourts to assess compliance with operational procedures, inventory management practices, HR, H&S, and customer service standards
- Review store operations, including cash handling processes, merchandise handling, pricing accuracy, and adherence to safety and security protocols
- Inspect store facilities for cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety and food standard regulations, reporting any deficiencies and recommending corrective measures
- Evaluate employee performance and conduct interviews to assess knowledge of company policies, procedures, and customer service standards
- Collaborate with store managers, area managers and regional managers to address audit findings, provide feedback, and develop action plans to improve performance and mitigate risks
- Engage with site managers to complete agreed action plans that will deliver improvement
- Constantly monitor the audit to look for and suggest ways to strengthen and improve the audit process
- Conduct full cash audits thoroughly
- Review completion of all operational documentation including CCTV checks to confirm completion of tasks
- Evidence accurate checking of all deliveries and credits and timely return of and credit for vouchers
- Review timely paying of all invoices by site
- Review price labelling, offer promotion to ascertain that we are trading legally
- Review the effectiveness of the system in place for date checking products
- Examine stock for outdated items
- Ensure that all necessary security measures are in place required to maintain the safe operation of sites
- Monitor compliance with Company procedures aimed at training all staff to work within the restricted sales trading laws
- View reports on stock counts, waste, loss, markdown, non-scans, transfers, promotions to ensure that these are timely and accurate
- Conduct any additional checks and investigations as required by the Regional Manager
- Ensure the store manager is aware of exactly how to put right any failings and give help and advice to assist their understanding of their job
- Document audit findings, observations, and recommendations in detailed audit reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with audit standards
- Provide coaching and feedback to store staff on compliance requirements, best practices, and opportunities for improvement identified during audits
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in retail operations, incorporating knowledge into audit processes and recommendations for continuous improvement
- Valid UK drivers’ licence. It is a condition of employment that this is maintained
- Previous field based operational role at Area Manager level or equivalent
- This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with retail industry standards, practices, and regulations
- Prior experience in the Retail and/or Convenience sector
- Previous audit experience
- Experience with inventory management systems and point-of-sale (POS) systems is desirable
- NEBOSH/Food Hygiene qualification
