Here at Rainbows Hospice, we support the hospital to home transition for medically stable children & young people, requiring long term ventilation, who might otherwise need to remain on an intensive or high dependency care area through our Long-Term Ventilation and Step-Down Team.

We are currently seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Hospice Care Assistant to join our Long-Term Ventilation and Step-Down Team, providing 1-2-1 care for babies, children and young people who have a range of complex needs including long term ventilation of either a tracheostomy tube (invasive) or via a face mask/nasal cannula (non-invasive).

This role is based at the Hospice on Lark Rise, Loughborough, and will require you to work on a rota pattern of shifts covering 24/7 care.

**Some of the key responsibilities include (but not limited to)**:

- To provide high standards of clinical and personal care to all children, and young people, including but not limited to, bathing, feeding, and dressing.
- To implement, in conjunction with parents/carers and nurses, a plan of care to meet the identified needs of the children, and young people.
- To maintain accurate records including clinical observations according to policy.
- To help support siblings whilst visiting the Hospice.
- To participate in outings/activities either planned or at short notice.
- To plan, organise and participate in hydrotherapy sessions with children, and young people.

Within this role, you will also support the Care Team with palliative and/or specialist respite care when required.
