**Background**:
Based in the Centre for Mental Health Research at City, University of London, the research project aims to evaluate two government pilots to inform future decisions about the commissioning of Independent Mental Health Act Advocacy (IMHA).

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time (0.7 FTE) service user/ survivor researcher to work as a research assistant within a multi-disciplinary team, bringing a lived experience perspective of racism, and/or mental distress (or using mental health services) to a national evaluation of Culturally Appropriate Advocacy (CAA) pilots funded by the National Institute of Health Research.

**Responsibilities**:
The main purpose of the research assistant role will be undertaking qualitative research. The post holder will help undertake and analyse qualitative interviews and will play a key role in liaising with mental healthcare professionals, advocates and mental health service users at one or both pilot sites. Another key responsibility will be contributing to the write up of the research findings.
