Market Research Apprenticeship

London, United Kingdom IFF Research Full time

We are currently recruiting for 2 people to join us and start their career in research under a level 4 apprenticeship in market research.

**Who is IFF?**

IFF is a social and market research agency, which means we design research to understand more about the issues that are affecting the UK, so that better decisions can be made about what to do, and how to solve problems. We don’t do research on products like chocolate or washing powder, our research is nearly all related to government policy.

We work in several different areas, including education, the environment, health and wellbeing, housing, and finance. Many of our clients - the people we are doing the research for - are Government departments, but we also conduct research for charities, universities, housing providers, and some businesses like banks.

Each research project that we do is very different, as we are trying to answer different questions each time. So working with us means that you will always be doing something different and learning something new.

Here are some examples of the sorts of research that we have done:

- Research to understand whether disabled people feel their local sports centres are accessible for them
- Research to understand how businesses feel about new tax laws
- Research to understand whether new schemes to help parents engage with their babies, are working
- Research to understand what skills people have within businesses, and what ‘skills gaps’ there are in the UK.

Our work covers the whole research process - so we design each research project from scratch, then we design questionnaires, interview people, analyse the data and write reports and presentations to explain our findings.

We’re really proud that time and time again we hear that the best thing about working here is our people - we know we have some of the most talented, friendly and interesting people in the research industry. Our people have different ways of thinking and working, but we all have a shared goal of discovering what is going on in the world, and making a positive difference.

**About the opportunity**

This is a level 4 Apprenticeship and you will study with Swarm Training.

The standard working hours are from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. We work flexibly to accommodate our team's lives outside of work. During your working hours, you must complete a minimum of 6 hours per week of study time with tutor support working towards the qualification, this is likely to be on a specific day identified at the start of your employment.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our research team and begin your research career. Working alongside the apprenticeship provider we will provide the opportunity for you to support the research teams in delivering work through work shadowing, administrative tasks and project specific tasks while building your skills, experience and responsibility through your studies.

You’ll learn valuable new technical skills that go beyond Microsoft Office such as report writing and statistics, you’ll also build your skill in team work, communication with others through different means and you’ll learn how to adapt to deadlines and manage your workload and how to love problems.

You’ll be given the opportunity to develop your core research skills necessary to become a successful researcher and you’ll work with our experienced team to build your knowledge in all aspects of the research process including the sectors we work in, the work we produce and deliver, our clients and the processes we follow that enable us to generate industry leading research.

**Responsibilities**

As a Research Apprentice, you’ll assist on range of tasks including:

- Quality checking key deliverables (e.g. questionnaires, data outputs, reports)
- Completing data entry tasks with precision and care
- Producing neat and accurate updates for clients.
- Writing up qualitative interviews from recordings
- Populating PowerPoint reports
- Providing ad hoc marketing and administrative support to sector teams
- Preparing, planning, prioritising and communicating effectively to ensure deliverables are sent to schedule
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with team members

**Who are we looking for?**

You may have some experience with Microsoft Office but will be willing to learn new skills as well as use new tech and systems.

You should have good written and verbal communication skills and will be happy to work on your own and manage your work and studies as well as working flexibly and positively with others.

You’ll be joining a company that values input from its team, and you’ll have the opportunity to join our committees and take part in our regular social events.

We’re a person-centered business and offer 28 days holiday plus bank holidays, private healthcare options, flexible working, wellbeing support and social events among other benefits to cater to all of our team.
