**Job summary**:
Government Business Services (GBS) is a large business unit within the Cabinet Office with around 610 staff. It brings together back office services across government, and supports the Civil Service with high-volume HR and finance processes, aligned to the Government's modernisation agenda. GBS was established in August 2020, and includes Shared Services, the Government Recruitment Service, Civil Service and Royal Mail Pensions, and the Platforms and Services unit, which supports these. GBS delivers services for over 400,000 civil servants across government. It supports 1.5 million Civil Service and Royal Mail pension scheme members, and provides recruitment services for around 70 percent of the Civil Service.
- We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable individual, with competent IT skills who can undertake administration tasks effectively.
- The role will support the administration duties of both the Civil Service & Royal Mail Pensions casework team.
- The majority of the tasks for this role are carried out using shared mailboxes and a case management system.

**Job description**:

- Provide a high quality administration service to the team including managing the incoming and outgoing of casework.
- Prepare, collate and maintain records on the case management system, respecting the confidential nature of the data and information involved, reflecting General Data Protection Regulations and Cabinet Office's data handling protocols and guidance.
- Making contact with and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. Proof reading and sensibility checking of correspondence, logging and sending them back to stakeholders.

**Person specification**:
**Essential Skills Required**
- Confident IT skills, including experience of spreadsheets (this will be tested at interview)
- Confident personality able to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
- Accurate keyboard skills with an eye for detail
- Good at using initiative and working unsupervised

**Desirable skills**
- Knowledge of pensions would help but not essential

The interview process will consist of an online/virtual panel who will ask behaviour and strength-based questions.

There will also be a separate, online test - this will consist of an information pack relating to a complaint which you will be asked to log on a system/spreadsheet. The test will be scheduled separately to the panel interview and the vacancy holder will contact you directly to arrange this.

The panel interview and test are both worth 50% of your total score for this vacancy.
