Leaving Care Children's Support Team Leader

Signature Aftercare support looked after young people leaving the care system who are working towards independent living. Striving for the best opportunities for individual young people, allowing them to take the lead on their own plans, while supporting them to stay safe and make positive choices using a person centred approach.
We provide high quality support, life skills, safety and security in a homely, fun and friendly environment. As a valued member of our support team you'll encourage independence and implement support to meet individual needs. The purpose of the role is to ensure our young people are safeguarded from presented or potential risks whilst respecting their dignity and promoting resilience and self-worth through independent living.
Working under our experienced and supportive Head of Operations and Registered Service Manager, we are currently redefining the ethos and focus of our business and are looking for positive, enthusiastic, and empathetic Team Leaders to help us to do this.
**Criteria/Person Specification**:
- Commitment and a Genuine desire to care for others
- A good Team player
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- IT Literate
**Experience**:
- Childrens Residential Support/care worker experience Minimum 1 year.
- Experience of the supporting the developmental needs of young people (Essential)
- Experience of working to achieve outcomes.
- Experience of multi-agency working and information sharing. (Essential)
- Experience of working to Ofsted Regulations (preferred)
- Experience of risk management. (preferred)
**Training/ Qualifications**:
- Structured Induction Plan
- Mandatory Training Provided
- Must have or be working towards diploma level 4 in children and young peoples workforce or equivalent.
**Further Requirements**
- Current transferrable DBS preferred
- Full Driving license preferred but not essential
- NVQ 3 (or equivalent) essential or be working towards.
**Preferred/ beneficial**:
- An understanding or awareness of current legislation in regard to the rights of children and young people leaving care
- Knowledge and understanding of issues that affect young people
- An understanding of Safeguarding and CE.
- Knowledge of GDPR
- An understanding of Diversity and Equal Opportunities
- Knowledge of Health and safety issues.
- An understanding of Person-Centred working.
- **Hours of Work/ Shift Pattern**:
- working a 2 day on 4 days off rolling rota rota pattern with sleep ins.
- Shifts are predominantly 14-16 hours with a sleep in allowance of £70 per sleep plus 2.5 hour handover the following day
