**HR Assistant/Advisor**
This permanent position, to commence as soon as possible is for 37 hours per week, to be worked over 5 days, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm (includes a 30 minute lunchbreak each day), term time only plus five teacher training days (TEDs) and 10 additional days. The salary is paid at Scale 5, points 12-17, £24,220 to £26,373 per annum. (£26,421 to £28,770 full time, whole year equivalent).

We are looking for an experienced HR Assistant/Advisor with a passion for creating an inclusive, supportive and happy working culture. You will be a highly motivated and motivating individual.

**Purpose of the Role**
Carry out HR responsibilities and tasks to ensure school recruiting policies and procedures are carried out. Manage and maintain HR databases for employment, appraisals, CPD, DBS and safeguarding. Provide advice and support regarding employee relations, disciplinary matters, grievances, absence management, maternity and paternity leave and staff appraisal.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
The list is given as a guideline only and is not exhaustive. Other tasks and activities relevant to the main headings should also be considered acceptable. A degree of flexibility is therefore considered essential. These include:

- Support the recruitment and selection process for all staff, including but not limited to:

- Preparing job descriptions and person specifications
- Creating vacancy adverts and applicant letters
- Organising the placing of adverts, ensuring the recruitment page of the school’s website is up to date.
- Producing and distributing the schedule for the interview day.
- Promptly requesting references and monitoring their return.
- Ensuring the prompt and timely completion of all pre employment enquires including but not limited to, qualifications, right to work in the UK, medical questionnaires, DBS disclosures, overseas checks and chasing as required.
- Issuing offer letters and organising the issue of contracts of employment.
- Ensure the school’s single central record (SCR) of pre-employment checks is up to date, accurate and fully compliant at all times.
- Support to the finance manager as required.
- Provide HR related support to all staff:

- Work place adjustments.
- Health and wellbeing related matters.
- Conflict and resolutions.
- Operational Health & Safety
- Create and maintain all current staff personnel files both manual and electronic files.
- Action changes to staff terms and conditions in a timely manner, ensuring all changes are put in writing to the staff member.
- Process staff leavers in a timely manner.
- Ensure all leavers files are archived and destroyed in accordance with the legal and good practice requirements.
- Inform the IT department and Reprographics department of all starters and leavers.
- Inform the finance department in a timely manner of all starters and leavers, changes to terms and conditions, maternity, paternity, adoption and similar types of leave and pension changes.
- Maintain the HR database with all personal and contractual changes.
- Run, complete and return the annual Workforce Census to the DfE by the set deadline.

**CPD**:

- Organise the distribution of access links of annual mandatory online training, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Monitor the completion of mandatory training to ensure all training is completed.
- Collate and manage staff CPD records incorporating statutory training requirements.
- Receive online CPD training requests and liaise with the leadership team regarding costs.
- Book training courses; liaise with training providers, finance and the cover team.
- Issue, receive and collate post training evaluation forms.
- Ensure that all staff, including new members, are provided with Staff Review and CPD documentation.
- Receive, collate and record appraisal documentation for all staff.

**General and review**

To understand and be prepared to support the ethos of the school by:

- Promoting good relationships with students, parents, colleagues, governors, LA and agency staff and visitors to the school.
- Promoting high standards of student behaviour inside the classroom and around the school generally, following the school’s behaviour policy.
- Promoting high standards of personal presentation and conduct, including being punctual and using social network media appropriately.
- Completing training in the relevant areas to meet all safeguarding and health and safety standards as advised by CWLC and government policy.
