As part of service redesign an opportunity has arisen for an experienced and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join the Autism Team, with a remit for particular oversight on assessments for children of preschool age. The role is situated within a multidisciplinary autism team who work closely together to make sense of presenting concerns, taking into account information from a range of sources.
The service redesign has had a strong focus on ensuring quality of assessments and a better journey for children, young people and their families. As a service we are keen to keep improving and to offer a wider post-diagnostic package in conjunction with other health and social care colleagues, and there would be scope for projects as part of this role. Additional training can be offered e.g. ADOS.
To be responsible for the provision of highly skilled specialist Speech and language Therapy to a caseload of children with Autism and Social Communication needs, managing this specialist caseload independently and prioritising the clinical needs of the caseload in an equitable way.
To provide a range of specialist psychological assessments for children and young people across North Derbyshire. In doing so to share complex and sensitive outcomes with parents / carers and professionals.
To analyse and interpret complex data and findings from a variety of sources and share this sensitively in highly emotive situations. To work closely with Paediatric and Child Health colleagues to deliver diagnostic formulations to colleagues in Health, Social Care and Education.
Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a well performing Foundation Trust serving a population of around 441,000 across the Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, North Amber Valley, High Peak and North East Derbyshire districts.
