Job Introduction
An opportunity is available for a Regulatory Support Officer based at either Tipton, Castle Donington or Bristol.
Reporting to a Regulatory Analyst in the ED2 Regulation team, you will support the wider National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) Regulation Team. You will be responsible for providing support in the drafting and submission of responses to Ofgem consultations and requests, as well as contributing to the delivery of a variety of reporting activities to both Ofgem and National Grid (NG) wider group.
The role also involves completing month-end and other reporting processes, and providing updates and data cleansing activities for a variety of reporting. You will also be involved in completing RIIO-ED3 activities as this area develops.
Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
- Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
If you are offered a position, you will be required to successfully complete a basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.
Main Responsibilities
- Track and monitor regulatory projects and submissions, including updating of our project portfolio in NGED systems
- Run month end regulatory finance and reporting processes, including updating of standard reports
- Engage with colleagues across the business, including undertaking Business Owner check-ins in a timely manner to support in data cleansing activities and reporting processes as required
- Support the set-up and ongoing monitoring of RIIO-ED2 performance against Core Commitments and collating of data assurance forms
- Analyse, interpret and provide data and responses to NG Group or Ofgem information requests
- Assist in the preparation and submission of responses to Ofgem requests, consultation documents and other processes
- Review processes and suggest improvements to optimise working practices.
- Maintain the ED2 Regulation SharePoint (intranet) page
We’re looking for an effective communicator with good interpersonal and organisational skills who has excellent attention to detail. You will have the ability to work independently and proactively under pressure to tight deadlines, as well as being adaptable and able to respond to the changeable nature of tasks in a regulatory environment.
Excellent computer skills are key, including Excel (spreadsheet modelling and data analysis), PowerPoint and Word (presentation of findings).
You will either need current knowledge of NGED’s regulatory environment or the ability to build this knowledge quickly.

- Annual Share Save plan
- Contributory private healthcare scheme for you and your family
- Support via our Employee Assistance Programme, including musculoskeletal and physiotherapy services
