**Introduction**:
The Chamber and Participation Team (CPT) brings together all the disciplines that support the House of Commons Chamber within one coherent structure - the procedural offices that facilitate the core function of legislating, the operational teams who focus on ensuring that the Chamber runs effectively and efficiently, and the public-facing teams who promote Parliament’s role and seek to engage citizens across the UK with parliamentary business.

**The Role**:
This role is a member of the Visit Parliament Bookings and Ticket Office Team, responsible for welcoming visitors to Parliament on paid for and Democratic Access Tours. You will be an ambassador for Parliament whether working in the Bookings Team, taking calls and making bookings, or in the Ticket Office making face to face sales and providing information.

The Visit Parliament team is part of the wider Chamber and Participation Team. Whilst we are directly employed by the Houses of Commons, the team is bicameral, so we work for both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. We are politically impartial and take great pride in the vision and values which guide our work.

This role will support the Ticket Office and Bookings Team Manager and Team Leader in ensuring an excellent visitor experience and an effective, efficient and professional marketing, travel trade and ticketing operation.

Some key responsibilities of this role include;
- Provide excellent and efficient customer service to all visitors being an ambassador for Parliament and an important contact point on their visitor journey
- Ensure that your own duties are carried out efficiently and effectively; and resolve any problems as they occur - being able to react to changing events and situations in a professional manner.
- Accurately record all booking requirements and information, including any special requirements. Liaise with other departments in reference to operational support and assistance to fulfil customer’s requirements.
- Communicate professionally, written and orally, to a high standard.
- Complete varied administrative/operational duties as required
- particularly including assistance with the marketing of commercial tours - and comply with any other reasonable management request.

**Skills and Experience**:

- An understanding of delivering excellent customer service in a pressurised visitor/customer service environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver information effectively over the telephone, in person and in writing.
- Ability to work successfully within a team, whilst upholding the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Strong organisational skills with ability to work under pressure and to deadlines and a demonstrable proactive and flexible approach to work
- (Desirable) Experience of working in a ticketing or booking system environment.
- (Desirable) Experience of working in a cash handling environment and a clear understanding of best practise
