**PURPOSE**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our finance team within the credit control function.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Capture customer master data and maintain the database to correctly reflect the data sets across the business. Territories covered UK, USA, Canada, Far East, Row & DACH region.
- Set up new accounts and undertake a full credit check prior to trading commences using online tools.
- Credit check customers periodically to ensure all accounts are updated prior to each season with new credit limits to ensure the business can ship product timely.
- Post bank statements and allocate accurately all Accounts Receivable payments in multicurrency (GBP, USD, CAD, EUR).
- Complete regular sales ledger account reconciliations.
- Weekly review of sales ledger accounts. Placing accounts on stop where necessary.
- Process card payments via different online portals and send payment requests via links.
- Work on customer portals, including uploading of invoices, reconciliation, and query resolution.
- Handle disputes and negotiate payment plans to collect debt.
- Continuously build & develop customer relationships.
- Preparation and posting of journals to the AR ledger.
- Assisting with other transactional and administrative duties including reporting.

**THE PERSON**:

- 3 years credit control experience with a wholesale business.
- Excellent communication, both written and oral.
- Advanced numeracy, including data entry and analysis.
- IT literate, with sound knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Calm under pressure, diplomatic and show empathy.
- Ability to listen to customers and negotiate solutions.
- Good organisation skills and the ability to prioritise accordingly with an eye for detail.
- Business focused and a forward thinker.
- Self-motivated and driven with a positive attitude. Work well in and team but also individually.
- Knowledge of external portals & self-billing systems advantageous.
- A passion for the fashion retail industry.

**HOURS**:
We actively encourage our teams to have a good work/life balance and so we are pleased to offer flexible working shifts at Fred Perry HQ. Our core shift hours are from 10am - 4.30pm and so employees can choose to start and finish early, or start and finish late. (i.e. work 8:00am-4:30pm, or 10:00am-6:30pm etc). We also have 30-minute early finish on Fridays.

As we continue to work in a more flexible way, the Head Office acts a brand hub, where we can all connect and collaborate with one another. This role is a mix of office based (London) and remote working. We will expect the employee to come into the office regularly for face-to-face meetings and to work alongside their team on collaborative projects.
