Research Assistant in Maternal and Fetal Health

We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to join a research project team directed by Prof Alexander Heazell. The proposed project aims to co-develop a novel data environment for maternity research purposes, better phenotype the populations we serve, evaluating the variability in how patients interact with healthcare services for underserved populations and their potential impact on outcome rates and determine the association of these additional clinical and health inequality risk factors for poor outcomes and identify which of these parameters are predictive (through clinical prediction modelling).

The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to experimental design, independently develop analysis plans, performing analyses and consult with other researchers (to present and report findings), as well as publish in high impact journals. The post may also involve line management, advisory and supervisory roles with respect to ensuring there is a sound analytical knowledge base available and there is compliance with university procedures and regulations. The post holder will need to liaise with others to ensure they have a clear understanding of the needs of the School, Faculty and University in order to achieve their goals.
