We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Assistant to join our team at the Complex Trauma & Resilience Research Unit. The successful candidate will support the delivery of a nationally-funded research grant exploring the Soteria model as an alternative to inpatient admission for people with extreme mood states.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the smooth day-to-day organisation and completion of the research project by supporting the Chief Investigators.
- Support the involvement of the study's community research team, consisting of people with lived experience of mental health difficulties, and facilitate their engagement in the research.
- Recruit research participants, including people with lived experience of mental health difficulties, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate focus groups and conduct semi-structured research interviews with participants to explore, elicit, and analyse information relating to the research study.
- Conduct systematic literature reviews and assist with the presentation of research/research design to the patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) group.
- Organise dissemination events and prepare associated dissemination materials.
The Complex Trauma & Resilience Research Unit is a leading research centre that promotes a normalising approach to understanding extreme mood states. We believe that experiences and beliefs regarded as symptoms of 'psychosis' or 'bipolar' are often highly understandable reactions to distressing life events.

Requirements- Good (Hons) or above achieved in Undergraduate Psychology degree.
- Experience of conducting research, including data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of research design and methods.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team player and liaise with a variety of other personnel within health and social services and with community members.
