**We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Accommodation Officer to join us**

This is a full-time fixed-term contract for a period of 12 month with a salary of £32,002 to £35,719.

**The Role**:
Working within the Temporary Accommodation Team you will work alongside Housing Options and Resettlement Teams to support those living in temporary accommodation and ensure their temporary homes are safe and suitable for their occupation. You will be responsible for letting and managing temporary accommodation provided to homeless households.

**Your role will involve**:
Ensuring the effective and efficient management of all Temporary Accommodation in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures:

- Ensuring all repairing obligations and health & housing safety rating standards are met within Temporary Accommodation provided within homes leased in the private sector including those managed by external providers.
- Managing relationships with homeless households provided temporary accommodation including action to assist in income recovery, investigate anti-social behaviour and where needed support to recover possession.
- Building and maintaining relationships with providers of Temporary Accommodation.
- Identifying safeguarding risks, welfare and support needs of residents and the suitability of accommodation provided.
- Supporting the Housing Options and Resettlement service by contributing to the overall development of the Temporary Accommodation service.

**What we are looking for**:

- Experience in a busy frontline housing service or similar, with skills in partnership working, influencing, and negotiating for successful housing outcomes.
- Knowledge of Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Suitability of Accommodation, and repairing and health and safety obligations for temporary accommodation and private sector standards.
- Strong understanding of the needs of homeless households in temporary accommodation, with effective communication, time management, mediation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ensure timely inspection of temporary accommodation properties for suitability and condition, and maintain accurate and up-to-date property and customer records.
- A team player who will collaborate closely with the Housing Options Team for a seamless customer process.
