Eastbourne, United Kingdom East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust Full time

At East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, we’re planning a once-in-a-generation redevelopment of our hospital facilities, enabling us to go even further in providing the very best care for our patients.

Building for our Future is about much more than just improving our estate. Redesigning our facilities allows our clinicians to redesign how we deliver care. By learning from the latest evidence and models of modern hospital design, we will design our buildings and systems to be fit for the needs of the communities we serve, now and for the future.

Redeveloping our hospitals will enable us to better co-locate services to enable more advanced treatments; introduce new technologies and digital infrastructure to improve outcomes and safety; and speed up access by creating more one-stop clinics and improving flow through our hospitals.

We are working with the New Hospitals Programme to agree the details of the funding, with building works due to begin in 2030. In the meantime, our work includes refining the future operating models of care for our services leading to the production of estate configuration options and a series of major business cases to successfully secure the significant capital investment required to transform our estate and services in the future.

The post holder will be part of the Programme Management Office (PMO), working with other members of the team, playing a pivotal role in providing administration and project support to the overall delivery of the Building for our Future business cases and assisting in co-ordinating a broad range of project related activities.

**The postholder will**:

- Assist in defining project scope and specifications and support the maintenance of these through the programme lifecycle;
- Develop and maintain programme and project documentation, including providing support to maintain and update project baselines (cost, schedule scope) and linked schedules;
- Support the development and update of cost activity plans, incorporating any cost updates;
- Participate in risk meetings and assist in the implementation of risk response plans;
- Provide support in managing the document systems in line with defined processes;
- Help to track and measure all project benefits throughout the programme lifecycle;
- Support in updating KPIs related to benefits realisation;
- Assist in monthly cost and schedule reviews, providing relevant updates;
- Help to update the programme Risk Register and Change Control Registers;
We are proud to provide ‘Outstanding’ care and be a great place to work

We provide safe, compassionate and high quality care to half a million people living or visiting East Sussex. We are one of the largest organisations in East Sussex, the only integrated provider of acute and community care in Sussex. Our extensive services are provided by 7000 + members of staff working from acute hospitals in Hastings and Eastbourne, three community hospitals in Bexhill, Rye and Uckfield, over 100 community sites and in people’s own homes.

In 2020 the Care Quality Commission rated us as ‘Good’ overall, and ‘Outstanding’ for being caring and effective. The Conquest Hospital and our Community Services are rated ‘Outstanding’. Eastbourne DGH rated ‘Good’.

In 2020, the Trust launched its ambitious ‘Building for our Future’ programme. This once in a lifetime programme aims to repair, redevelop and expand our hospitals, transforming the environment in which we provide care for generations to come.
