To take responsibility for the development and provision of the CT/MRI induction programme, including conducting probation review meetings: Student Radiographers placements and AP training working with other members of the team and key stakeholders and participating in the regular placement reviews. Design, develop, monitor and lead suitable induction and learning programmes for newly recruited staff including internationally recruited staff, to ensure they achieve an appropriate level of competence. To produce and maintain training records for all staff within the CT/MRI department, that evidence competence to undertake their individual role. As required take responsibility for developing, delivering and evaluating educational programmes ensuring they meet national and local requirements, including reviewing and updating training manuals and other documentation.

To work alongside the CT/MRI Clinical specialists and Advanced practitioners and support the delivery of the in-house CT; CTC; and MRI training programmes. To support and assist the CT/MRI Clinical specialists and Advanced practitioners to practice and perform CPD within the professional framework of advanced clinical practice. To be responsible for ensuring that all radiographic staff possess appropriate IV cannulation training and statutory qualifications for eligibility to work within the departments PGDs. Act as a coach, mentor and assessor to facilitate staff clinical and leadership development as well as course/study completion.

Support and promote continuing professional development activities. To be responsible for providing advice to students and apprentice AHPs on assignment writing and academic work and conducting appropriate supervision where necessary. Liaise with HEIs in order to provide feedback on student performance and to be aware of current developments in Academic Courses. In consultation with the Consultant Radiologists, CT/MRI Superintendent Radiographer and CT/MRI Clinical lead implement training programmes to meet organisational priorities as required, including implementing and chairing a training committee.

Take part in peer review and seek feedback to evaluate impact and ability and modify own teaching accordingly. To be responsible for ensuring that staff provide feedback on training activities and collating information as part of the Training Evaluation programme. Work with Superintendent Radiographers and Practice Educators to capture identified learning needs across all modalities from annual appraisals and PDPs to establish the annual TNA/LNA and feed this into the Divisional plan. Liaise extensively with Learning and Development and Divisional Learning Representatives to ensure education provision utilized effectively and is appropriate for needs of Radiography and meets L&D Requirements eg adequate mentors, participating in HCPC audits of practice.

Develop, initiate and maintain appropriate training and competency records to evidence that all staff maintain the level of training and competence for their role. Use high level keyboard skills, spreadsheets and databases to develop and maintain training records, training plans and LBR spreadsheets. Ensure all staff maintain learning record and complete relevant competencies to ensure fitness to practise. Support Superintendents with talent spotting and performance management of identified individuals.

Work within the clinical area for a minimum of 30% of the role to work with individual staff and teams to ensure delivery of safe and effective practice in the pursuit of clinical excellence and to develop effective systems of team working. Provide support, pastoral care and mentorship to provide feedback on performance and manage failing students and staff. Demonstrate highly specialist clinical expertise as expected from clinical leaders and provide visible leadership and presence in the clinical area. Act as expert specialist resource and lead on development of clinical practice.

Skills acquired through specialist professional experience and supported by degree level education. Be a key agent in Radiography for transformation and innovation of practice and ways of working. Facilitate learning from risks, complaints and clinical incidents Lead on the implementation and evaluation of EBP and participate in development of policies, guidelines, audit and research. Champion dissemination of EBP through publications and presentations both internally and externally to large groups of staff.

Deliver high quality education programmes to staff using advanced skills in multi-media equipment and blended learning approaches. Working with Learning and Development to ensure specialist provision procured when not available. Evaluate and audit the effectiveness of all programmes and modify own teaching and procurement through TNA/LNA accordingly.
