**MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT**

**Job Title**:Management Accountant Fixed Term (12 months) - possibility to be extended

**Location**:Leyland

Reporting to the Business and Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will provide first line management of a small team of finance professionals to assist with delivering all financial & business related activities. They will be a business partner tothe Business & Finance Manager to assist with delivery of operational targets, deliver continuous improvements and ensure robust budgetary control over all financial matters.

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all work activities are carried out in line with the organisations Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality management systems, policy and procedures.
- Supervisory management of the financial systems including; Payroll, Procure to Pay (P2P) process, Sales Ledger, General Ledger and Banking.
- Completion of month end process including preparation, validation and input to financial system.
- Support in the management of company financial authority matrix, and workflow approval process.
- Support in the management of all financial policies and procedures ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, statutory obligations and LRL policies.
- Support with the preparation of all statutory reporting requirements and returns (including PAYE, VAT, ONS, P11D's)
- Support in the management of the external audit process to ensure the company meets its statutory reporting obligations. Liaising with stakeholders including financial institutions, HMRC, external auditors and tax advisors.
- Support in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and monthly management accounts.
- Support in the management of Capital and Lifecycle requirements.
- Full supervisory management and administration of all payroll related schemes (including multiple pension schemes, cycle scheme, death in service schemes, attachment of earnings and other employee related deductions)
- Development and supervisory management of the finance team.
- Carry out ad hoc projects as required by the Business and Finance Manager.

**Person Specification**:
**Education & Training**:

- Qualified to AAT, CIPP, CIMA, ACA, ACCA, QBE or working towards AAT, CIPP, CIMA, ACA, ACCA (Essential)
- Evidence of continued personal development (Essential)

**Work Experience**:

- Experience of working successfully in a multi-discipline management team (Business Partnering) (Essential)
- Experience of the preparation of financial and management accounts (Essential)
- Experience of payroll processing and reporting (Desirable)
- Experience of the preparation of VAT, National Statistics & all other statutory returns (Essential)
- Experience of cash management including cash forecasting (Essential)
- Champion of internal control procedures and accounting procedures (Essential)
- Experience of managing a team (Desirable)
- Experience of the waste or similar processing sector (Desirable)

**Skills and knowledge**:

- Extensive knowledge of financial systems (Essential)
- Extensive knowledge of segregation of duties and financial governance principles (Essential)
- Extensive knowledge of payroll management systems (Essential)
- Experience of supervising a general ledger including chart of accounts maintenance (Essential)
- Experience of financial modelling (reporting tools, budget/ forecasting models) (Essential)
- Experience of financial leadership for cost management including project cost monitoring (Essential)
- Advanced Microsoft office; Excel, Word, Project, Access, Powerpoint and Outlook (Essential)
- Excellent written and communication skills. (Essential)
- All modules of Coda Financial Suite (Desirable)
