Night Transport Shift Manager & Shunter

Monday to Friday 10pm - 6am

Skelmersdale

Come and join a growing family business that is going places. With over 10 locations in the UK supplying drivers and transport operations to their customer, they are expanding and need an experienced Transport Planner or Shift Manager to manage the night shift.

DAY TO DAY DUTIES
- Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods and up to 15 drivers
- You will need a Cat C&E licence to shunt vehicles around the yard and also to the local customers sites
- Determine the most efficient routes for transportation using the TMS
- Schedule and dispatch drivers and vehicles, liaise with driver throughout to ensure smooth delivery
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, and drivers to provide updates on shipment status
- Resolve any issues or delays with the driver and customer
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, ensuring full transport compliance

**Requirements**:

- Hold a Cat C&E Licence for shunting duties within yard and Skelmersdale for customer trailer swaps
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in using transportation management software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
