**Job Title: Transport Planner**

**Location: Skelmersdale, Lancashire**

**Salary : Negotiable - depending on experience**

**Working Hours: Monday to Friday**

Due to growth of the business, we are looking for a dedicated, customer-focused Transport Planner to manage a fleet of vehicles and a team of drivers, to achieve OTIF deliveries across the North West.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure effective communication, planning and utilisation of in-house drivers for deliveries out of multiple warehousing sites.
- Review the strategic transport plans daily in relation to providing cost effective solutions and reacting to unexpected issues.
- Responsible for building and maintaining a positive working relationship with team members and customers, to achieve company objectives.
- Ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times across your team.
- Reporting of problems and dealing with any issues / queries that may arise.
- Aid daily communication with operational teams and customers regarding network/route plan changes.
- Continuous improvement of transport operations, from cost reductions to extensive route optimisation and appropriate vehicle loading
- Administer international dispatches
- Continuously optimise our courier management system
- Handle dispatch/shipping errors and manage carrier volume via rules on our carrier management system.
- Previous Transport and strategy development and extensive planning/ supervisory experience in a busy and demanding environment is essential
- Ensure all drivers comply with EU and WTD rules and regulations at all times
- Keep transport records as required in line with group and DVSA requirements
- Ensure all vehicles are maintained in a timely manner

**Qualifications**:

- Full Driver CPC qualification
