London’s first and the longest-running, crowd-funded UK cat cafe, located in East London near Shoreditch High Street station. We are currently home to 20 rescue cats and kittens and have rehomed over 60 cats over the years. We have a small team of around 15 hard-working, reliable and creative individuals. We’re looking for someone with great interpersonal skills who loves cats and is interested in being trained for a Level 2 Animal Care Apprenticeship. Being a Cat Carer is arguably the most converted job as it requires plenty of time spent with our beloved rescue moggies, but there’s a lot more to the role than cuddling and playing with cats.

offering a unique opportunity in a varied and interesting role, involving both the day-to-day care and husbandry of 15+ cats and also a high level of Customer Service to its patrons.

As well as general care of the resident cats:

- cleaning
- feeding,
- offering enrichment
- observing of health, welfare and behaviour

You will also be providing a high level of care to the customers:

- welcoming them upon arrival
- taking their orders
- facilitating their engagement with the animals.

Your role might include general cash handling and regular use of POS software. You will be trained in ‘under 25’ policies with the offer of additional training.

In addition to assisting with the general care and husbandry of our clowder, the person who fills this position will be expected to interact with our guests, providing a high standard of service to ensure that customers are satisfied and operations run smoothly. Although the happiness of our patrons is important to us, the cat carer’s job is ultimately to safeguard the well-being of our feline residents; whoever is employed as our apprentice will need to ensure that everyone who visits the cafe follows the rules we’ve established to protect our cats.

**Qualifications**
- No previous qualifications are required but customer service experience would be helpful

**Future Prospects**
- Our apprentices often stay on after completion of their apprenticeship for further study of a Level 3 or continued employment.
- Two of our Former Apprentices stayed on working after completing their Level 2s, continued studying their Level 3s with us and progressed into a Senior Cat Care role and a Supervisor role. One other was employed by the London Zoo after his apprenticeship.

**Training**
- Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
- The applicant will be working towards and gaining a Level 2 Apprenticeship
- The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
- The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
