Brighton and Hove, United Kingdom YMCA Downslink Group Full time

**St Patrick’s** is a 24-hour Supported Accommodation service for adults who have experienced homelessness based in the heart of Hove. The service is based in a unique converted church building, and works with a Harm Minimisation Model supporting residents with long term substance and alcohol-use issues to engage with outside agencies, such as the GP, with CGL (a substance and alcohol support service), and Oasis etc. Residents are at St Patrick’s for an average of two years, with the goal to move them on to lower support, private rental, or detox/rehab, where appropriate.

We are looking for a **Support Project Worker** to join the team which comprises of 15-17 staff including 3 managers, 8-10 project workers, 2 night workers and 2 maintenance workers. You will provide support to adults with complex needs, using creative ways to engage residents, empower them to identify and achieve goals and to increase their resilience. You will promote a culture of responsibility to prepare residents for future independence, including confidence building, accessing substance misuse services, linking with GPs and learning opportunities, paying service charges, managing relationships and adhering to licence agreements. You will maximise the safety and wellbeing of residents and visitors and will be responsible for administration tasks. You will record incidents, accidents and safeguarding issues that require further investigation and share appropriately.

**Based on site, you will be on a four-week rolling rota with a mixture of early and late shifts, working one weekend out of four. You will receive extensive training prior to starting.**

We are looking for a friendly, professional person who is able to engage and relate well with people. You will be passionate about working with adults with complex needs and have the ability to work alongside our team to develop safe, boundaried and consistent relationships with residents. You will be able to complete key work for residents, link in with external agencies and advocate for vulnerable people.

**YMCA DLG requires all staff and volunteers to be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and to respond proactively to safeguarding concerns. Successful applicants are required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure (including the Children’s barred list and the Adults’ barred list)** **via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
