The Trust has an amazing team of volunteers who give their time and share their skills and talents to complement and enhance the care our staff provide to patients, their families and carers.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our volunteer services team as a volunteer co-ordinator. The volunteer services team work across our sites to recruit and support volunteers, develop new volunteering opportunities to support and enhance our services, and promote volunteering at Hampshire Hospitals.

You will have experience of managing people and the ability to problem solve and can readily adapt to changing work priorities, working independently and as part of a wider team. Ideally you will have experience in a similar role recruiting and supporting volunteers. You will demonstrate the ability to work in partnership with others and to inspire and develop services for the future.

**Main Duties**:
**Our volunteer co-ordinators are responsible for**:

- promoting, developing and supporting volunteering across the Trust
- the selection and recruitment of volunteers in accordance with best practice and Trust policy to deliver a safe and inclusive volunteer programme across the Trust.
- co-ordinating the ongoing support, training and development of existing volunteers, working with staff in the departments/wards /teams where volunteers are placed to ensure that each volunteer has a rewarding and positive experience at Hampshire Hospitals.
- working in partnership with trust staff, volunteers and our local communities to identify and develop new opportunities for volunteers to support our vision to provide outstanding care and improve patient experience.

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of west Berkshire.

Our volunteer co-ordinators work across our hospital sites at Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover and work together as a team providing support to our volunteers in their various roles.

We are a supportive and encouraging team who are committed to working and learning together to ensure every volunteer has a positive and rewarding experience and to increase the number of volunteers who support us to care and improve patient experience.
