To clean returned equipment so that it can be re-issued.
- To maintain Hampshire Equipment Service ( two units ) offices and warehouse.
- Clean aids and equipment returned from clients/ patients, undertaking minor alterations or repairs that may be required.
- Returning cleaned stock to correct area and ensuring all equipment is bar-coded and recorded.
- Audit all returned aids and equipment.
- Daily cleaning of the cleaning room, store, office & toilet areas within both units.
- Prepare Special equipment for dispatch.
- Assist with the unloading of lorries.
- Be responsible for ensuring that the equipment is accounted for and securely held at all times.
- Undertake any other duties & responsibilities that may be relevant to the post.

**Main responsibilities**

**Community Focus**
- No direct contact with general public, but standard and timeliness in preparing special equipment for dispatch completing minor repairs and equipment cleaning tasks and returning items promptly to stock can affect delivery of goods and availability forre-issue to clients. Poor standards could cause delays to people receiving goods which have been identified to improve their lives.

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Understanding of an able to use Bar-code and stock recording systems effectively.
- Knowledge of where pieces of equipment are stored and understand security issues to minimise thefts.
- Knowledge of packaging/preparation requirements for specialist equipment to reduce damage in transit.

**Communication**
- Mostly face to face communication with colleagues and managers to conduct daily business co-operatively and to gain maximum benefit from supervision and performance development reviews.

**Decision making**
- Prioritise own workload within guidelines and standards.
- Identify damaged equipment and draw to attention of line managers those pieces that may not be repairable.

**Role Dimensions**
- Clean and return to storage a minimum of 150 pieces of equipment per week.
- Clean identified areas daily or more frequently if necessary.
- Record return of cleaned and scrapped aids and pieces of equipment per week for audit purposes.
