By joining our Surrey Prisons Health Care Team, you will not only look after the healthcare needs of the prisoners, but who also have the opportunity to have a real impact on promoting health and well-being.
Working in partnership with the criminal justice system and other agencies, we provide responsive, dependable and high-quality primary care and mental health services to existing offenders (and those at risk of offending) in the communities we serve, to improve their health status and to encourage social inclusion.

HMP Send is a female prison set in the picturesque surroundings of Ripley in Woking, just off of the A3 and within reach off the M25.
Working in partnership with our HMPPS colleagues, our duty is to support and treat our patients with a dignity and care, with the motto "caring not judging" forthright in mind. By promoting the health and well-being of patients and maintaining a safe, caring and therapeutic environment based on an individualised approach.
Working within the prison environments are both rewarding and challenging, where no two days are the same. This varied role working within a Mental Health In-reach Team, involves assessing and treating patients, accepting referrals, carrying out triage, liaising with the multidisciplinary team, providing effective case management to a defined caseload, and carrying out effective care planning. Working with the Team Leader to provide an environment that promotes training and development among the workforce. In order to ensure the highest level of care is given to our patients currently receiving our care and also those soon to be leaving, by supporting them to maintain treatment pathways upon release.

Quality of Care

Work within agreed levels of resources, both human and financial, to support the clinical environment. To efficiently co-ordinate all services delivered to the patient groups within prison.
