Peer and Volunteer Coordinator

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Peer & Volunteer Coordinator to work as part of our Derbyshire Recovery and Peer Support Team.

You are part of a team that provides countywide Recovery & Peer Support services across Derbyshire; working in partnership with Derbyshire Federation for Mental Health, P3 ,and Derbyshire Mind to deliver targeted community based support through one-to-one and group sessions to help people to improve and maintain their mental health with an emphasis on recovery, self-management, independence and overall wellbeing. Your role will work as part of a team to promote and develop countywide peer support and self-help groups and opportunities by empowering people with mental ill health to support each other, find friendship and reconnect with their local community as part of their recovery journey.
**How you will make a difference**
An element of the Recovery service is the development of peer support groups and peer support group leads and volunteer support. We believe that peer support can be used as a tool to aid in an individual’s recovery journey. We support people to build their own skills, confidence and resilience, reducing their reliance on services in the future. We work with diverse groups including those with learning or physical disabilities, dementia, older people, carers, young people as well those with a mental illness.
This role will focus on making our volunteering and peer support strategy a reality within the Derbyshire Recovery and Peer Support Service.
You will promote and develop countywide volunteer opportunities and peer group lead opportunities to ensure equitable access to local support by empowering people with mental ill health to support each other, find friendship and reconnect with their local community as part of their recovery journey.
