**The Team**:
This role works as part of the Awards (formerly known as Grants and Contracts) team, which collects and checks information from successful grant applicants prior to them being able to start their projects. The Awards team is part of the wider Delivery team within the Operations directorate and is not only responsible for creating and issuing grant award letters, but also verifying bank account information for all grant funded participants, and for checking that applicants are aware of all the information they need to provide as part of the process. The team works in tandem with various teams across Operations and regularly requires engagement with Stakeholders across the wider organisation.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Monitoring all Awards project setup tasks within Tracker, IFS Post Award and the Innovation Funding Service to ensure any actions are completed within the Innovate UK timescales
- To act as the interface between the customer and Operation teams in order to provide a timely resolution to all Awards set-up related queries
- Verification of bank details for each grant funded participant, in line with Innovate UK defined processes. This involves liaising with Project Finance where relevant and escalating any non-standard bank accounts to their team for additional review
- Creation of Grant Offer letters and Procurement Contracts as part of the project set up process.
- Investigate and action the weekly held on payment run report, this involves liaising with the accounts, claims and project finance team to ensure the issue is rectified and payment is made to the participant promptly
- Work with the Innovation Leads to create grant offer letter templates with bespoke information, and provide any ad hoc support with their competitions where necessary
- To be able to manage often conflicting demands, and deadlines of multiple stakeholders whilst protecting the integrity and of the Awards and Innovate UK documented processes.
- To use initiative when resolving queries and deal with all issues in a constructive manner, understanding when it is necessary to escalate to Awards Team Leader
- Ensure excellence of quality when communicating with internal and external stakeholders, at all times
- To engage with the Awards Team Leader and Head of Customer Support where needed, to ensure that Innovate UK policy and SLA is adhered too at all times.

- General academic qualifications to GCSE Level or equivalent experience

**Experience**:

- Experience of working in a customer service focused, fast-paced and process-oriented environment
- General administration experience working with bespoke and Microsoft systems and databases
- Demonstrable experience of working as part of effective teams, preferably in an operational environment to deliver results
- Proven hands-on ability to work within a change and process-led environment
- Experience of working with multiple, senior-level stakeholders, providing proactive customer/stakeholder support managing multiple deadlines concurrently

Desirable
- Interest/background/experience in innovation or research, business competitiveness and technology policy or delivery
- Experience of working with contractual documentation
- Understanding of structure of government and key Innovate UK’s partner organisations such as the Research Councils and Devolved Administrations
