Be the named supervisor for vaccination and healthcare clinics.

With respect to the national protocols, be the formal clinical supervisor in charge of the vaccination process.

Working under national protocols, patient group directions and patient specific directions to clinically assess patients and administer vaccines and other treatments as appropriate.

Ensure that clinics are running safely and are following the most up to date guidance regarding vaccination.

Support other health initiatives as part of ‘making every contact count’ and wider health improvement initiatives

As a Clinical Supervisor for immunisations, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the delivery of COVID-19 and other vaccinations and other healthcare interventions across Cornwall. The post holder will undertake a clinical supervisory role, overseeing a team of Immunisers, and an operational role, delivering healthcare interventions.

**In particular, the post holder will be responsible for**:
Delivery of a safe immunisation service, assisting to influence and facilitate change within the setting and service areas.

The supervision of clinical assessment prior to vaccination.

Supporting the reviews of complex medical histories and potential adverse reactions and offering specialist advice as needed.

The supervision of the configuration of the vaccination pod/clinic and vaccination station within the vaccination delivery model.

The clinical supervision and undertaking of safe vaccination delivery.

The supervision and undertaking of drawing up and preparation of the vaccine prior to administration and ensuring that each activity is recorded.

Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence-based policies and procedures.

Overseeing and undertaking other healthcare interventions as part of making every contact count and health inequality initiatives
