Job Summary The Administrator will fallinto the Scanning sub department but maybe required to work or support in one of the other 5 sub departemnst within the Administration Department and Alnwick Medical Group. Key tasks and Responsibilities Scan and read code relevant information from patient clinical records into the practice computer system, working strictly in accordance with the practice scanning and coding protocol. As well as other roles within the scanning sub-department. Review medical records and produce an accurate summary of the patients medical history.

Sorting patient records and letters. Reviewing medical records to produce a comprehensive summary of patients medical history. Ensuring knowledge of the Read Codes system. Inputting data using the Read Codes system.

Retrieving patient medical records and interpreting data for the use of clinical staff members Auditing data collection to ensure Practice standards are met. Maintaining patient registration and recall systems Ensuring that medical records are complete and accurate ahead of each consulting session. Keeping a methodical system of filing allowing for the quick retrieval of files Ensure general upkeep of paper files, repairing when necessary. Maintain familiarity with scanning and coding protocols.

Minute taking for multi-agency & inhouse meetings. To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the post. Ad-hoc administration duties & be prepared to help with cover in all departments of the Administration Team. Key results/objectives Contributes to ensuring patients are seen in a timely, caring and professional manner Supports equality and diversity of patients and colleagues Supports wider team with achieving their objectives where appropriate Confidentiality Ensures self-compliance with data protection laws and confidentiality agreements and that of the teams the post holder is responsible for Follows confidentiality policy, computer use policy, information governance policy, social media policy and any other policy relating to confidentiality within role.
