**About The Role**:
The West Midlands Region are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Administrator to join the team on a permanent basis, working 21 hours a week. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Region as part of a busy team. The key purpose to the role is to provide effective and efficient administrative functions to the Region, in delivery of all Regional activity and member support.

Your role will be working with clubs across the region, coordinating programmes and delivering first class administrative support and customer service to key stakeholders. We are seeking a friendly, passionate individual with a positive outlook and great attention to detail to support the region in its delivery of aquatic sport.

There will be some occasions where you will need to support events and attend meetings outside of the usual core working hours.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, your responsibilities will be to:

- Provide administrative support to the Regional Management Board, specified groups and the wider regional team
- Provide basic financial administration and upkeep, supporting the Regional Finance Director and wider regional team
- Develop and create regional communications such as newsletters
- Provide administrative support for Regional events and programmes across all sports
- Administrate and support an annual calendar of regional workshops and education
- Maintain and update regional databases as required

**About You**:
**Essential**
- Level 4 or above administration qualification or relevant administration experience
- A high level of computer literacy
- Excellent accuracy in numeracy and literacy
- Experience of planning, prioritising and managing a varied work programme in order to meet time specific deadlines
- Proven ability to act on own initiative and to work as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal skills
- A track record of identifying and anticipating the needs of stakeholders, acting in a professional manner to ensure a positive image of the region is portrayed.

**Desirable**
- Basic finance experience
- Knowledge of sports development, and specifically club development
- Knowledge of aquatics/sports industry
- Basic experience of administration tasks like minute taking and meeting management
- Experience of working with volunteers
- An ability to adopt a flexible approach to work, to meet the demands of the role

**About Us**:
**This role is located in the West Midlands Region and will be managed by Swim England West Midlands Region. The contract will jointly be managed by the Region and Swim England.**

Comprising of the counties of Worcester, Shropshire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire, Swim England West Midlands Region is one of eight regions in England. Regions form the middle of three tiers of national, regional and county swimming governance, each with specific areas of responsibility. The Region is managed at a strategic level by a Board of Directors, with the day to day responsibility for the aquatic sports sitting with its volunteer managers and committees. Swim England West Midlands Region works in partnership with Swim England to ensure that we have compatible strategies and development plans.

The Region employs a small team comprising of a Regional Operations Manager, a Sport Development Officer, a Club Development Officer (vacant) and an Administrator (vacant), who work closely to ensure that our clubs, athletes, coaches and volunteers are able to access the support, training and education they need to reach their full potential. You would be joining the region at an exciting time as we are soon to launch our new 4 year Regional Strategy, which will focus the teams work around 4 key strategic themes; Governance, People, Pathways and Communication. We are confident that by investing in development, aquatics in the West Midlands Region will continue to thrive, grow, develop and ensure a safe space for our 4 key user groups; coaches, athletes, volunteers and parents.

The Region also strives to provide a high standard of regional competitions and development programmes for athletes from all sports; water polo, diving, artistic swimming, and swimming (including para-swimming, masters and open water). We see regional competition and programmes as the stepping-stone towards competing at a national and international level, and are committed to providing competitions and programmes that prepare athletes for progression to the next level.
