**Working hours**: Monday-Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm

Remedy Education are working closely with a very reputable mainstream school in Lewisham, South East London, who are looking for Student Welfare Assistants to work with children aged 4 - 11 years old. In this role, you will be working in a specialist provision within a mainstream school with the goal of helping these young students with complex disabilities. This role focuses on establishing a comfortable environment for the student to continue their studies.

As an Student Welfare Assistant, you'll work on a group or one-to-one basis with additional needs, which include but not limited to; Gastrostomy, ASD and ADHD. This role can be challenging. However, you are part of making a real change to a student's life - which can be extremely rewarding.

**The successful SEN Teaching Assistant must**:

- Have recent experience within a similar role.
- Be passionate about working with SEN pupils
- Be able to modify approach depending on pupils individual needs
- Be able to inspire and motive those that need additional support
- Be passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people

**Key responsibilities for your role**:

- Working with specific children from Early Years through to KS2 that require extra help and target support, depending on their needs
- Leading sessions outside of the classroom with children both 1-1 and small groups
- Working alongside other professionals to assess children including writing EHCPs
- Working with other teaching staff to design the best strategies to meet a pupil's needs.
