**Position Summary**

**Student Welfare Officer Core Duties and Responsibilities**
- Must attend training course
- Responsible for assisting the Accommodation and Welfare Manager with preparing and updating rooming lists, ensuring that all students are allocated correctly
- Conduct thorough room checks; log, report and follow up on any accommodation/maintenance issues
- Assist with student arrivals and departures
- Meet groups on arrival at airports
- Ensure that student welfare is a priority and the Safeguarding Policy is adhered to; report suspicions, allegations, or incidents to the designated member of the operations staff
- Pastoral care of students including monitoring mealtimes, wake up and curfew duties
- Support students throughout their courses, ensuring their enjoyment and maximising their involvement; first point of contact for anything they need, including pastoral support
- Update student records and ensure that key staff members are made aware of any medical or SEN needs
- Hold daily/weekly meetings to ensure the students are happy and safe and record all feedback and action points
- Help students access medical care where necessary and logging any incidents/accidents
- Participate in meetings
- Complete administrative duties accurately and in a timely manner
- Support Bayswater in retaining its accreditations, for example British Council

**Knowledge, qualifications, and experience**
- Essential_
- Fluent in English
- Competent in use of Excel and Microsoft Office products
- Able to complete administrative duties
- Previous experience working with children and/or teenagers
- Desirable_
- Previous experience at summer camps/summer schools
- Current first aid certificate

**Legal Requirements**

**Salary and Benefits**
- £12 per hour
- Salary of £576 per week, based on a 48-hour working week
- You are entitled to statutory holiday entitlement of 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata
- Accommodation and full board provided
- A strong commitment to providing you with in-service support, training and professional development sessions
