- We’re looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals. You’ll lead and deliver our regulatory, compliance and technical work in the team. You’ll work closely with the Team and support and mentor less experienced officers. You'll have a good understanding of incident management and be confident dealing with a wide range of customers and stakeholders.
- You’ll have;- Understanding/experience of the topics the Land & Water teams regulate including water quality, agriculture, water resources.
- You’ll regulate(and may enforce) against Environmental Permitting Regulations, providing advice and guidance to other Environment Officers and coordinate priority work across the team.
- You'll develop a sense of team with Environment Officers and help them to feel empowered to deliver their work.

The team
- Our regulatory teams work in geographical areas with a strong emphasis on working as one to deliver priorities and outcomes. You will be part of a team who perform regulatory and enforcement roles covering water quality, water resources, incident management and agriculture. The teams are passionate about the environment and protecting some of the most sensitive areas in the UK, undertaking work that is interesting and varied with no two days the same.

Experience/skills required
- We are seeking proactive, self-motivated and confident communicators with practical operational experience and understanding of environmental regulation.
- Lead on aspects of the Land & Water portfolio within the team including water quality, water resources, agriculture and incident management;
- Influence compliance with EA policy/legislation/best practice ways of working and contribute to the delivery of business plans;
- Undertake regulatory work and be the point of contact for compliance issues related to the Land & Water portfolio.
- Lead on other technical issues as they arise e.g. Local Enforcement Positions and casefiles;
- Chair of the Areas Water Resources and/or Agriculture Technical Group, driving forward compliance in these areas;
- Have strong influencing and communication skills;
- Work collaboratively with Senior Environment Officer's and other teams to improve and protect the environment.

A full UK driving license is essential.
