Nursing Administrator/receptionist

To receive and direct visitors and relatives in a professional and courteous manner at all times and assist in answering queries.
Dealing with enquiries from medical staff and the public concerning patients.
To inform clinical staff as patients arrive.
Answer telephones and relay messages and enquiries in a timely manner e.g. to clinical staff.
Report maintenance problems and necessary repairs to Estates Department.
To liaise with medical staff regarding queries/issues relating to various tests.
To notify an appropriate staff member of all telephone requests for clinical tests.
To despatch reports of investigations to the appropriate secretaries or wards.
Act as a point of contact for the ward, dealing with patient related queries in person and on the telephone ensuring that all important information is entered into the ward communication book or relayed in a timely fashion to the relevant person.
The Nursing Administrator role is to work as a member of the nursing administration team with a focus on inpatient and day care services. The post holder will carry out reception, clerical and any relevant non-clinical duties which assist the nursing, medical staff and patients.
The post holder will need to be extremely flexible as the role will involve covering different ward reception areas along with chemotherapy administration duties as and when required.
The post will also involve coordinating emergency bed management and carrying out administration duties.
By the nature of the duties, the post holder will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with staff, patients, carers and relatives with courtesy and discretion at all times.
