About our Team

Our team owns Social Science journals, as part of our larger Science, Technology and Medical Publishing organisation. We work collaboratively internally across the business and externally with academics to ensure our journals are best in field. We take ownership for the reputation of our journals and the quality of the content we publish.

About the Role

You will take ownership of the publishing life-cycle from defining materials for a defined list of social science journals to working on initiatives and projects. You will balance academic knowledge with entrepreneurial skills and a keen interest in new online developments. You will have an ambassadorial role to work effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

**Responsibilities**:

- Building solid relationships with the research community through a mix of communication channels to keep up-to-date with emerging market trends
- Developing a deep market awareness of your market both for your portfolio and the wider team to ensure alignment
- Advocating for journal development to accelerate growth of content particularly content
- Working with key society partners on strategic journal acquisitions, development, renewals, launch plans to overall strengthen business relationships
- Managing editor appointments for your journals to ensuring they have editorial structures that are diverse and dynamic
- Improving the visibility of your journal brands and our company tools and services through effective outreach to ensure ongoing success
- Collaborating closely with team members and other publishing colleagues to help deliver on shared projects and goals

**Requirements**:

- Be degree educated
- Have good experience in an academic or publishing role
- Demonstrate experience in setting, realising goals and making a difference internally and to our customers
- Be able to adopt a range of communication channels and deliver great customer experience
- Be able to work efficiently and productively delivering results in a global matrix organisation and managing multiple stakeholders
- Have an impressive can-do attitude and a team-oriented approach to working
