An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Sheffield Diagnostic Genetics Services (SDGS) which is part of the larger North East and Yorkshire Genomic Laboratory Hub (NE&Y GLH) as an Personal Assistant.

Within the role you will be acting as Personal Assistant to the Head of Department and Senior Management Group (SMG) within genetics to provide administrative and secretarial support.

The post holder will be a compassionate, accountable individual who treats all colleagues, patients and service users with respect and seeks to deliver excellence in their role. They will share the Trust values and be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Main duties and responsibilities of a Personal Assistant would be providing support to the Head of Laboratory and SMG. This would include:

- Maintenance of an electronic diaries
- Arranging and cancelling of appointments and meetings and advising on availability
- Booking of venues
- Production of spreadsheets
- Collation, formatting and redistribution of information
- Booking of courses, travel tickets, hotels

**Other duties would include**:

- Attend and take minutes at appropriate meetings assigned by clinical director and SMG
- Distribution of agendas, minutes and associated documents for meetings
- Support general office administration for the department including filing and billing should time allow
- Answering the telephone and dealing with telephone enquiries
