**About the team?**
The dispatch/customer service team at Taunton Station consists of 3 supervisors and 8 dispatchers in a link which includes 2 General Purpose Relief roles.

**About the job?**
The purpose of the job is to dispatch trains in a safe and timely manner. It is also to manage the Platform/Train interface and provide excellence customer service and platform management.

**Your main responsibilities will be**:

- Providing excellent customer service to our customers
- Excellent platform control
- Report any faults and Safety/Security issues

**You'll need to be**:

- Able to provide excellent customer service
- Able to work under pressure
- Possess and demonstrate good IT skills
- A self-starter with a can do attitude
- Have a good level of numeracy and literacy
- Good organisational skills

**As a minimum you will need to have**:

- The ability to work as part of a team or independently
- Evidence of numerical ability
- Strong verbal and written communication skill
- Experience of working in an environment where safety is paramount

**Location?**

Taunton Station is a busy location in the heart of Somerset. The station has recently had a new Multi story carpark and new Gateline and ticket office.

**Working pattern?**

This role involves shift work as per the roster in operation which will involve early, middle and late shifts. Night shifts on a 6 weekly rotation. working weekends and bank holidays.
