**Position**:Residential Child Care Professional (**you must be over 24 years of age** as per homes statement of purpose RISCA regulations)

**Location**: Canton Cardiff
**Pay rate **per hour for unqualified staff £11.13. bring home £1,800.
After 6 month probation £11.66(salary per year £22,572 to £23,647) plus sleep ins
**Qualified staff starting rate **in HSC CYP Diploma L3 is £11.66 after 6 month probation £12.45 (salary per year £23,647 to £25,249) plus sleep ins
**Salary Range £27,960 to £30,687 ** £11.13- £12.45 as well as gym membership and child care allowance.
**Hours of work**: 169 hrs per month on a rotational shift pattern. (Based on 39 hrs a week)
**Duration: Full time permanent**

**About us**
Genus Care is a family run business, who own 7 residential child care homes across South Wales. As Genus Care is owned by the people who run the company on the inside, we make 'child focused, person centred' decisions

**The Job**
We are currently recruiting for a Residential Child Care Professional (RCCP) in Canton in Cardiff to work with young people in their late teens who have been placed in our care by the Local Authority. These young people are coming to the end of their life in care but are not quite ready to live independently. With our support and guidance we can give them the tools they need to become independent young adults to prepare them for when they leave us to live on their own. They can display unwanted behaviour and the job can be challenging at times.

This is a challenging but very rewarding role. You will be expected to follow all policies and procedures, personal plans, Social Care Wales Code of Practice and also be able to use your own judgement. You will be part of a very supportive, qualified and experienced network of people and given all the training you need to support you in the role.
These young people have had a very difficult start in life through no fault of their own and can display unwanted behaviour from being let down so badly. We need dedicated people who can build genuine relationships with the kids and offer them opportunities that they’ve never had whilst following all policies and personal plans.
