This role presents an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with emotional behaviour disorder and/or complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children aged 6-18 in a residential setting, promoting their emotional and psychological well-being.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Create an inclusive and fair environment, respecting the diversity of backgrounds, situations, and abilities.
  • Manage challenging behaviour, using de-escalation techniques and adhering to established protocols.
  • Implement personal care plans, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment, adhering to strict health and safety practices.
  • Build strong relationships with children and young people, empowering them to reach their full potential.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children and young people with emotional behaviour disorder and/or complex needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing the needs of children and young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, young people, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of child development, emotional intelligence, and behaviour management principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve positive outcomes.
