The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with an active and energetic Parliamentarian who is deeply committed to promoting and protecting the right to Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) for all. She is currently serving as Chair of the 42-country International Religious Freedom or Belief Alliance (IRFBA). The role will involve working closely with the Envoy’s Parliamentary Office, the Deputy Special Envoy and with a wide variety of civil society organisations and faith groups, with the aim of making a difference for those persecuted on account their faith or belief in many different parts of the world.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- supporting the Envoy with her diary, travel, and meetings.
- accompanying the Envoy to meetings and events, and taking notes, as required.
- liaising with colleagues to support the Envoy to raise and respond to issues of FoRB concern in a timely and effective manner.
- liaising with the Secretariat of the IRFBA, as required, to support the smooth running of the UK Chairmanship.
- helping the Envoy deliver her engagement with civil society/Non Government Organisations.
- supporting the Special Envoy to oversee the cross-government implementation of the Bishop of Truro’s review into the FCDO’s work on Christian persecution.
- event management of the Special Envoy’s events in the FCDO.
- building a network of contacts within the FCDO, other Government departments and beyond, to ensure that the Envoy is aware of developments on FoRB, and properly briefed for meetings and able to feed in to policy responses in a timely way.
- liaising with the Media Office and geographical colleagues to support the development of the Envoy’s social media presence.
assisting with other administrative tasks.

**Person specification**:
**Minimum Criteria**
- 2 A Levels, graded A*- C, or equivalent.
- An understanding of, or interest in, Freedom of Religion or Belief around the world.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, orally and in writing.
- Confidence to make appropriate decisions.
- Proactive in spotting problems and solving them.
- Able to work independently and check own work to ensure a high degree of accuracy.

**Qualifications**:
